CardGrade vs TCGrader: What We Found Checking Both

Checked on August 7, 2026, by Card Grading News staff: we spent the day inside both apps and across TCGrader's live public site, and this comparison reports only what we saw that day. That date matters more than usual here. Several of the problems we found on TCGrader's side are the kind a developer can fix in an afternoon, so every observation below is a snapshot of August 7, 2026 — not a permanent verdict.

Start with credit: Precision Scan is real

TCGrader's headline feature deserves to be reported straight. Precision Scan divides a card into 18 regions — nine per side — and assigns each region its own score out of 10, with four view toggles (Original, Contrast, Inverted, Detail) for inspecting each zone. We confirmed all of this working on their Dark Charizard demo report on August 7, 2026. At $79.99 a card, submitting blind is expensive.
